Getting Started

1.  Review all the information on our website and the information we mail to you. (Obviously, the more you read the better informed you will be).   

2.  Call us @1 800-559-0608.  We do not do hard sales so do not worry about that.  We will merely answer your questions and provide any information you need to make an informed decision.  This may not be right for you but we can give you the information you need to determine this.

3.  Decide which reverse mortgage fits your needs; either HUD's Home Equity Conversation Mortgage with higher upfront costs and lower initial interest rate, or Independence Plan, with low upfront costs, but a higher initial interest rate.

4.  Set up an appointment to talk to an independent, HUD/AARP trained counselor.There is normally a $125.00 cost for this counseling (most companies will accept payment after your loan closes) and it is a requirement to get a reverse mortgage. We will provide you with the phone numbers for several counselors.

5.  Ask us to mail or email you an application for one of the two programs or to send a loan officer to your home to answer any last minute questions and help you complete the appropriate application.  It takes about 30 days to close your loan once you sign your application.
